Cat5e - (TIA/E1568-A UTP cables) UTP consists of 4 color coded pairs, each pair consists of a colored cable twisted around a striped cable. The pairs are as follows: - Blue:Blue/White
- Orange:Orange/White
- Green:Green/White
- Brown:Brown/White
The fisrt step is to strip about an inch and a half of the sheath and untwist the pairs. Hold them together and bend them back and forth to straighten them. It's far easier to get them into the plug if all the pairs are straight and paralell.

Make sure that the wires go all the way to the back of the connector, and that there is enough sheath inside the plug that it will be properly held when you crimp the plug.
